The EMS1 Practice Parameters and Guidelines archive is a digital library of protocols and guidelines. Submissions are reviewed by an expert team of EMS physicians [Click here for Review Faculty]. The guidelines are sorted into 3 categories:

 Best Practices — Individual submissions voted by the reviewers as the most outstanding currently listed on the site
 EMS Guidelines Respository — Collection of other guidelines, protocols and practices submitted to EMS1
 Complete Sets — Word Document and/or PDF version of complete protocol sets

We'd like to hear from you! If you would like your protocols or guidelines considered for EMS1, please submit them at protocols@ems1.com. Submissions should be in Microsoft Word format and include the name of the source organization, Web site or email contact, and publication date.

Recent updates or revisions may not be reflected in documents posted below. Practice of prehospital care requires medical control and physician oversight.

Best Practices Hazardous Materials Treatment 01/05/2008 Nassau Regional Emergency Medical Services
It is the intention of these protocols to facilitate rapid medical intervention at the scene of a Hazardous Materials incident. These protocols are written in order to better define the responsibilities of the Hazardous Materials Medical Sector Staff. These protocols although intended for the Hazardous Materials Emergency can be used on other scenes of poisonings when deemed necessary by approved Hazardous Materials Treatment Team staff.
