Teen gets trapped in storm drain trying to retrieve cell phone
Responders pulled her out after she hopped into the drain to get her Blackberry, which fell out of her pocket
DOVER, United Kingdom — Nowadays, most of us can't bear to be without our trusty mobile phone.
Clearly 16-year-old Ella Birchenough felt that way as she hopped into a drain to try and fetch her Blackberry after it fell out of her pocket. Unfortunately, she got stuck and had to be rescued by firefighters. According to onlookers, the teen was quite relaxed about it all – and far more concerned with retrieving her phone. She told KentOnline: "I was talking to somebody and I went to put my phone in my pocket and it fell down the drain.
"I thought to myself, 'I'm not leaving this' and I jumped down to get it. I wasn't really even stuck, I just needed somebody to help lift me out but my mum got all panicky.
