Video: Cheerleader hurt in bizarre high-kick accident

Kristen Hardy was performing when she lost her footing and slammed her forehead on the ground

ATLANTA — An Atlanta Hawks cheerleader had to be rushed to hospital last night after an accident during an energetic high kick routine caused her to hit her head on the court.

Kristen Hardy, of Houston, Texas, who cheers for the team alongside her twin Kirsten, was performing with the troupe between the third and fourth quarters of the game against the Dallas Mavericks at the Phillips Arena.

She is seen on camera attempting an energetic high kick when she awkwardly slips and twists hitting her forehead on the court. As she lay motionless horrified members of the NBA team's cheering squad rushed to her side, including her twin who was also performing. Paramedics then took her off the court on a stretcher and rushed her to hospital.
