3 killed in La. helicopter crash

A pilot and two passengers were on board at the time

CAMERON, La. — Three people have been killed in a helicopter crash in a remote area of southwestern Louisiana.

Cameron Parish Sheriff Ron Johnson said the crash was reported at 11:45 a.m. Friday. A pilot and two passengers were aboard the helicopter. All three died.

Johnson said the helicopter was owned by Era Helicopters LLC. A company spokesman said more information would be released later.

Johnson said the Federal Aviation Administration is investigating the crash, which occurred southeast of the Lake Charles airport.
