ZIONSVILLE, Ind. — An Ind. firefighter/paramedic died after his shift Monday morning.

Zionsville Fire Department Firefighter Cody Richardson, 26, was found unresponsive at a farm after he finished his shift at 7 a.m. that morning, according to WISHTV.

A department press release says that Firefighter Richardson was taken to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Firefighter Richardson was a full-time firefighter since 2008 and later went through paramedic school.

"Cody will truly be missed," Fire Chief James VanGorder said. "Our thoughts and prayers are with his wife, family and friends."

The cause of Firefighter Richardson's death is still under investigation.

Funeral arrangements are pending.
