By EMS1 Staff

HEBRON, Md. — A Md. fire department president was killed Tuesday morning in an accident.

Hebron Fire Department President and Assistant Chief Engineer David Mammi, 34, was killed after a tractor he was driving overturned, according to Delaware Online.

Mammi was reportedly driving a tractor with a propane tank trailer attached to it when the vehicle overturned. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The single-vehicle incident is still under investigation.

Mammi was beginning his seventh year with the department and had been president for about two months.

“He will be a greatly missed member of this family,” department Secretary Grady Romblad said.

Mammi is survived by his wife, three children, and a grandchild.

“He was just a special person and he would do anything for anybody he could do,” Mammi's wife Theresa told the paper.
