LIMINGTON, Maine — A Christmas Eve gathering in Limington ended with one man going to jail after he assaulted a family member and a rescue worker, police said.
York County Sheriff's deputies were sent to Hardscrabble Road after a report that Steven Perkins, 26, of Limington was acting strangely, according to Maj. William King.
Shortly after Deputy Bob Carr's arrival, Perkins assaulted a family member in front of the deputy, prompting Carr to not only arrest Perkins but dispatch Limington's rescue unit.
While the family member was being evaluated, a handcuffed Perkins kicked the rescue worker, resulting in a felony charge in assault on an emergency care member in addition to the simple assault charge.
