AUBURN, Mass. — A two-car accident in Auburn on Thursday sent a mother and her 2-year-old child to the hospital with injuries, according to Fire Chief Stephen Coleman.

The accident occurred just after 2 p.m. at Southbridge Street and Oxford Street North, Coleman said. The mother and child were transported to UMass Memorial Medical Center by an Auburn Fire Department ambulance.

Both vehicles sustained heavy damage and were towed from the scene.
