New EMT comedy pilot in the works

Denis Leary will co-write 'Sirens,' which will show on USA

By EMS1 Staff

CHICAGO — Shooting for a new EMT half-hour comedy pilot from Rescue Me lead alum, Denis Leary, will begin later this month in Chicago, USA said.

Sirens will follow three Chicago EMTs who are great at their jobs but make poor decisions in their personal lives, according to TV Guide.

Michael Mosley of Pan Am fame will play Johnny, a sports-loving EMT, who works with his best friend Hank, played by Kevin Daniels from the comedy Modern Family.

Kevin Bigley from Game Change has been cast as a new EMT who idolizes the other two.

Leary and Wedding Crashers' Bob Fisher will co-write and executive produce the series.

Justyna Siekowska Justyna Siekowska Friday, October 12, 2012 5:18:44 PM This show already exists
Chris Taylor Chris Taylor Friday, October 12, 2012 5:19:41 PM It sounds like it may be a remake of the U.K. show Sirens which was a comedy about Medics that was actually accurate in the treatment algorithms. Hopefully that quality will be brought over to this show.
Jeff Francis Jeff Francis Friday, October 12, 2012 7:01:05 PM why... why do they even try?
Sandy Beauchamp Coleman Sandy Beauchamp Coleman Friday, October 12, 2012 10:14:46 PM Cool! Just don't make us all look stupid.

Travis Schlegel Travis Schlegel Friday, October 12, 2012 11:03:26 PM Just as long as they're not sedating people for being a**holes, flying wrist fractures and codes off of hih rises and screwing in the ambulance they should be good!
Jack Applegate Jack Applegate Friday, October 12, 2012 11:04:05 PM Sounds like a party lol

Richard Berger Richard Berger Saturday, October 13, 2012 5:11:49 AM Just mentioning, they tried a TV version of Mother Juggs and Speed once. lasted 5 episodes, if memory serves.
Mike Whooley Mike Whooley Saturday, October 13, 2012 8:19:13 AM Sounds like a documentary
Justin Schorr Justin Schorr Saturday, October 13, 2012 8:46:36 AM It's odd. You pitch them a show, they say no, then suddenly make their own. Free idea machine.
Adam Armstrong Adam Armstrong Saturday, October 13, 2012 10:27:01 AM Um, it IS based on Sirens. Regardless, with Leary onboard, it's got a better shot at being a good show. The premise of being good providers will hopefully mean that the EMS that's shown will follow. Cautiously optimistic!
Alex Garmon Alex Garmon Saturday, October 13, 2012 10:48:44 AM Please don't make this like Chicago Fire....please.
