Crash sends Texas ambulance up in flames

AMARILLO, Texas — Two crew members of an Amarillo Medical Services ambulance making an emergency run were taken to Northwest Texas Hospital in unknown condition after their unit caught fire during a two-vehicle collision Sunday night.

The driver of the other vehicle, a red GMC pickup, also was transported in unknown condition, Amarillo police Sgt. J.D. Moore said.

The collision occurred at 5:17 p.m. at the intersection of North Mirror Street and Northeast Seventh Avenue.
