GREENSBORO, N.C. — A UNC Greensboro professor was riding his bike home from work last Wednesday when he was hit by a car.

Dr. Mark Schulz said he was taking his usual two-mile bike commute down Aycock St. last Wednesday night. "The next thing I remember is being jostled around inside the EMT van ... some EMT guy saying 'it doesn't look like you'll be riding that bike again'," Schulz said.

Schulz, a Ph.D. who teaches epidemiology at UNCG, later discovered he was hit by a car. He suffered a concussion, a broken sternum, five broken ribs, five compressed vertebrae, and a broken left knee cap.
