Stand Six Launched by Police Officer to Combat the Health Perils of Shift Work


Brad McNish, President, announced the launch of Stand Six Inc., an innovative new company formed to address the growing epidemic of health challenges faced by individuals who work shifts and irregular hours.

Stand Six will provide lifestyle and nutritional solutions to help people combat the known health risks associated with the disruption of their natural body rhythms (circadian rhythms) due to irregular working hours. These risks include digestive disorders, cardiovascular disease, high cholesterol, obesity, cancer and crippling fatigue.

As the world economy changes, more people than ever in history are working shifts, non-traditional hours and extended hours – up to 70% of the entire working population according to Stats Canada and the US bureau of Labour. Police officers are particularly at risk due to the compounded toll of a high-risk, high stress job and shift work.

Brad McNish is himself a police officer who knows personally the toll that working shifts can take on the body. He founded this company to develop tools that would arm his colleagues and all others who work shifts with the knowledge and the nutrients to not just survive but to thrive despite the disruptive hours invested in their jobs.

Brad and his Stand Six team of nutritionists, formulators and production experts have worked for three years to develop a program and a series of nutritional solutions that help shift workers, specifically police officers, better cope with the stress inherent to their jobs. They have consulted with some of the world’s leading experts on chrono-biology and the circadian rhythm and they have collaborated with specialists in Nutrition and Functional Medicine.
