LONDON — Thousands of ambulance staff are being attacked as they try to to save lives, the Mirror has found.

Our investigation shows almost 3,000 paramedics and ambulance technicians were physically or verbally assaulted last year — an average of eight every day.

The binge-drinking culture was last night blamed for the sickening violence putting both staff and patients at risk.
