New EVAC+CHAIR® Marks Invention’s 25th Anniversary
The Mk3 model of the EVAC+CHAIR Emergency Wheelchair is the fifth updating of a revolutionary rescue technique first introduced in 1982. Older units have been successfully used in actual emergencies, including the evacuation of the World Trade Towers on 9/11.
EVAC+CHAIR enables one person to single-handedly seat and evacuate a helpless person with speed and safety.
The new transporter for the evacuation of the disabled down fire stairs has an increased capacity of 330 pounds yet still weighs less than 20 pounds. Until its invention, the only practical method of emergency evacuation was strenuous two-man hand carries that endangered both evacuee and helpers.
Today, EVAC+CHAIR is standard safety equipment in office buildings, schools, hospitals, nursing home, hotels and government facilities throughout North America and Europe.
