EMS Airway Management Tips

Reduce costs by saving your equipment

Name: EMS1 Staff

The current state of the economy requires all departments and fields to cut costs and utilize budgets more efficiently. The first step to accomplish this is to use disposable equipment and supplies more efficiently. While it would be unwise to resuse products or scrutinize the use of needed materials out in the field, it is smart to use the right supplies at the right time.

Clearly label medication bottles that are soon to be expired with bright colored tape. This allows you to quickly grab the right bottle, instead of opening a new one with a later expiration date. Also try labeling other disposable gear, such as pediatric equipment and masks. This will ensure that you don't accidently open pediatric equipment, when you actually need adult ones.
