The limited time promotion is being announced as Globalstar prepares to ship its eight ground spares satellites to Europe for pre-launch testing, now that it has received export approval from the US government. During the promotion period, Globalstar is lowering the effective cost of airtime to new customers by providing them with an opportunity to receive up to 50% bonus airtime minutes, in addition to the standard bundled minutes they would normally receive when activating a satellite phone on one of the Globalstar annual or monthly airtime packages.
