Globalstar Announces 24/7 Support that Provides Clients with "Out of this World" Customer Care
Rapid growth in demand for satellite voice and data services has Globalstar expanding customer operations for US, Canada, Caribbean and Western European users
MILPITAS, Cal., - Globalstar, Inc., a world leader in providing mobile satellite voice and data services to business, announced today that it has expanded its Customer Operations Center and is now offering 24/7 direct customer care for its US, Canadian, and Caribbean satellite users. This week the company’s expanded call center also commenced offering the same level of service to those Globalstar customers located in Western Europe. Globalstar is the only Mobile Satellite Service (MSS) provider offering direct support to its customers in both Western Europe and North America.
The expansion of the call center is the result of the rapid growth in demand for Globalstar products and services combined with the company’s uncompromising commitment to offer its growing client base a premium level of direct customer support. Last year Globalstar moved its customer operations to an expanded facility and this past spring staffing for the call center was increased by over 50% to accommodate increasing activations and customer inquiries.
“As Globalstar continues to rapidly grow, so do the demands for us to maintain our levels of industry leading customer service”, said Steven Bell, Sr. Vice President for International Sales, Marketing and Customer Care Operations. Mr. Bell added, “If Globalstar customers have questions about their satellite service, they now have a live person to contact at any time. By offering multilingual service (English, French, and Spanish), Globalstar is uniquely positioned to offer comprehensive customer support directly to our satellite customers here in North America and now to those users in Western Europe.”
Over the past 24 months Globalstar has consolidated various operations in the Americas and Western Europe and opened a new satellite gateway ground station in Florida. It is also in the process of constructing an additional gateway in Alaska, which will open later this summer. With its independent gateway operator-partners, the company has significantly expanded its simplex data coverage by installing a number of new simplex data appliqués throughout the world. In addition to its spare satellite and second-generation constellation plan announcements, Globalstar has also reported the signing of a $140 million agreement with QUALCOMM to manufacture its current and next generation handset. In February the company disclosed that it had activated its 200,000th customer unit.
