NYACK, N.Y. — Ambulances crews now have a new tool to help treat people who have asthma or allergies in an emergency.

The Nyack Community Ambulance Corps has received permission from a state agency to carry Albuterol, a common asthma medication, and epinephrine auto injectors, which are used to treat people having allergic reactions.

Both medications will help save lives, said Paul Morer, captain of the volunteer ambulance corps.

People suffering asthma attacks are one of the most common types of calls that the ambulance crews respond to, he said.
