Half-nude man dies after fleeing EMS care

Medics found him inside a Jeep with his lower body exposed; he broke free as they tried to move him, drove off dragging the gurney, and crashed into a truck

KSAT

SAN ANTONIO, Texas — A strange and confusing incident ended Sunday afternoon with a man dead after police say he ran from EMS treatment and crashed his SUV before officers used a taser to subdue him.

"For whatever reason the male became agitated during the treatment," said Sgt. Javier Salazar of the San Antonio Police Department.

The bizarre incident began around 12:30 p.m. when EMS responded to treat a man on the Interstate 35 access road near Eisenhauer Road. They arrived to find the partially nude man inside a Jeep Cherokee with his lowered body exposed.

Donna Baer Donna Baer Monday, August 18, 2014 11:10:07 AM Excited delirium was my first impression, no details on full story about what he was being treated for, symptoms, etc. but his actions would imply he was uncontrollable for some reason. A shame for all involved.
