UK ambulance stuck in 'precarious position'

A second ambulance was dispatched to transport the patient; the first rig was stuck for four hours


SKEWEN, Wales — An ambulance carrying a patient to hospital became stuck in a "precarious position" in a back lane in Neath for four hours before it was hauled free.

A second ambulance was called to take the woman to hospital before a tractor arrived to pull the vehicle free. The incident happened at Skewen en route to the city's Morriston Hospital.

The Welsh Ambulance Service said no-one was injured in the incident on Tuesday which happened after they were called to reports a woman feeling unwell.

George Yaworski George Yaworski Tuesday, August 05, 2014 6:33:18 AM From the picture it is a Sprinter and with that useless traction control you cannot turn off, because the one front wheel was in the air, it most likely would not deliver enough power to the rear wheels to move it forward out of the ditch. The early traction control you could literally stand on the throttle and if the system detected any slip or wheel not moving in conjunction with another you couldn't go anywhere.
