8 hurt when Los Angeles commuter train, city bus collide

Four taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries

LOS ANGELES — Authorities say eight people are hurt after a Metro Blue Line commuter train and a city bus collided south of downtown Los Angeles.

The crash at Broadway and Washington Boulevard was reported just before 7 a.m. Friday. The train remains on the tracks, but the bus hopped a sidewalk and had a broken windshield. Details of the collision haven't been disclosed.

City fire spokesman Eric Scott says says eight people were hurt, six of them aboard the Metropolitan Transportation Authority bus, but only four were taken to a hospital. The injuries are non-life-threatening.
