FOND DU LAC, Wis. — Fond du Lac Police Officer Ryan Williams was shot during a standoff in Fond du Lac last March. He was critically hurt. Williams says the first responders' work saved his life.

Wednesday Williams honored two of the paramedics who helped him that day.

Fond du Lac Police Officer Ryan Williams handed the first Fond du Lac "Paramedic of the Year" awards to Paul Wilson and John Rolfe, two of the men Williams says he owes his life. "It's a chance to reward the people that saved my life, you know? How often do you get to do that. It's unbelievable that you get the chance. What do you say? You can't say enough," said Officer Williams.
