Job Description |
| The City of New York is seeking applicants for the position of First Deputy Director for the Office of Citywide Emergency Communications (OCEC) to oversee the management of Technology, Delivery, Operations, and Administration of the Emergency Communications Transformation Program (ECTP), a $2.03B multi-year initiative to upgrade the technology and consolidate the NYPD and FDNY 911 call taking and dispatch functions into two Public Safety Answering Centers. The successful candidate will possess a Master’s Degree in a related field, 10+ years of IT or Operations management experience, preferably in a 9-1-1 public safety or emergency communications environment, with responsibility for public safety information technology systems (e.g., Computer Aided Dispatch, Geographic Information Systems, Logging & Recording) or emergency management operations. At least 5 years of this experience should have been in an administrative, managerial or executive capacity of supervising staff performing these duties.

10+ years of project or operations management experience; 5+ years of IT management experience in public safety emergency communications operations; 5+ years of leadership experience in first responder radio communications including networks, infrastructure, and technologies; experience in overseeing large public and/or private organizations engaged in the deployment and sustainment of public safety telecommunications technologies; experience in developing and managing a major public safety network operations center;
