CHARLOTTE, N.C. — A paramedic who lost his legs while responding to a call 10 years ago will be reunited with the people who rescued him and helped him recover.

Tim Hayes was hit by a tractor-trailer and two SUVs and dragged several feet down an icy guardrail.

The horrific accident prompted the state to create a law requiring drivers to move to another lane when emergency crews are on the side of the road.
