Mass. man hurls transport chair at medic
He told police a medic tripped and knocked it down, but allegedly unstrapped his wife and threw it when the medic's back was turned
BROOKLINE, Mass. — A Brookline man who allegedly threw a transport chair at a paramedic trying to help his wife was arrested on Saturday, June 7.
Richard Joyce, 62, was arrested at 9:24 p.m., and charged with assault with a dangerous weapon, assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, and assault and battery on an emergency medical technician.
First responders were at the home of a woman who fell and cut her face. Police had stepped outside to let the paramedics work when one of them came back out to tell them they needed help with the patient’s husband, who was "acting belligerent, aggressive and assaultive," according to the report.
