WILMINGTON, N.C. — A patient assaulted an EMT and then jumped from the ambulance he was in while it was in motion Tuesday morning.
WECT reported that the man ran away, but officers located and arrested him.
Officers cited the man for resisting arrest and assaulting emergency personnel.
Police said it started as a voluntary commitment, but turned into an involuntary commitment after the assault, according to the report.
