Va. medic, 19, dies unexpectedly from heart complications

The community is mourning the death of Jordan Kuzik; he received an award for cardiac arrest treatment seven months after graduating and was set to marry his high school sweetheart in May

CHESTERFIELD, Va. — The Chesterfield community is mourning the sudden loss of 19-year-old Jordan Kuzik, a Chesterfield paramedic and son of a Chesterfield County Police sergeant.

Jordan died unexpectedly Thursday from heart complications. He was a graduate from Chesterfield Fire and EMS Volunteer Recruit School #27. Seven months after graduating he received an EMS Lifesaver Award for treating a patient who was in cardiac arrest. He was set to marry his high school sweetheart, Monica, in March.

Several fundraiser's have been planned to help with Jordan's burial and other expenses.
