AUSTIN, Texas — A man, coaxed by an Austin 911 operator, who helps his wife deliver their second child before paramedics arrived.

A father and his two boys who were rescued from the Colorado River after emergency workers used cell phone technology to find them.

A crew from the Investigation Discovery channel is in Austin this week reporting on both incidents this year for the television show “Call 911.” The show features successful efforts by operators and dispatchers after emergency victims called 911.

Warren Hassinger, spokesman for Austin-Travis County Emergency Medical Services, said Austin was one of three Texas cities chosen for story segments.

“The focus of this program is on the communications aspect of public safety,” Hassinger said. “We were excited to do it.”
