UK medic fired for using laughing gas on duty

BRIDEGEND, Wales — A paramedic has been struck off for inhaling laughing gas in the back of his ambulance.

Richard Sanders, 54, was caught on his 999 nightshift lying down on a stretcher in the back of the ambulance — after sucking in the gas and air.

Colleagues saw him staggering and slurring after breathing in Entonox, which is normally given to pregnant women to ease the pain of labour.
