Job Description

Position: Paramedic/Field Training Officer Closing: Open until filled Est. Salary: $37,000 Schedule: 24/48 The individual selected for the position will function as the lead medical staff for shift specific field operations and training while providing emergency, pre-hospital care and transportation to the critically injured or ill within the parameters of the license/certification. Additionally provides training of new employees and other assigned administrative duties pertinent to the efficient function of the department. Minimum training and experience: High school diploma or equivalent with a minimum of three years experience as a Paramedic within a high volume ALS system. Applicants must have a valid South Carolina driver’s license, SC Paramedic certification or qualify for reciprocity, BLS, ACLS, and PALS provider certifications and be able to communicate effectively in both oral and written form. The selected individual must have or be able to obtain PHTLS provider, AHA instructor credentials, and CEVO II certification within 6 months of employment. LCEMS System Overview: Laurens County EMS is an ALS 911 only system operating 4 transport ambulances and 4 quick response vehicles responding to 11,500 calls per year. We provide service to a population of 80,000 within 750 square miles in upstate South Carolina. Additionally, many of our employees are active in specialty rescue areas to include tactical medic, haz-mat, high angle rescue, confined space rescue, search/wilderness rescue, and water/dive rescue.
