STOUGHTON, Wis. — Four young people from Illinois were injured late Sunday night after the SUV they were in left the roadway and rolled over on Interstate-39/90 near Stoughton.

Traffic on I-39/90 was delayed for about an hour in the eastbound (southbound) lanes as emergency crews and the MedFlight helicopter responded to the scene.

The crash happened shortly before 8 p.m. just south of the U.S. 51 exit to Stoughton, according to the State Patrol.

The State Patrol said the vehicle, a 2001 Mitsubishi Carryall, was traveling at normal highway speed when the driver lost control for unknown reasons and left the roadway, rolling over with one passenger ejected from the vehicle.

Two passengers were taken by helicopter to UW Hospital while one passenger and the driver were taken by ambulance to Edgerton Hospital.

The driver was a 19-year-old male, while the passengers were a 21-year-old male, a 20-year-old male and a 22-year-old female, all from Elgin, Ill.

None of the injuries was considered life threatening.
