YORK, Neb. — Authorities have released the names of two men killed in a plane crash near the York airport.
York County Attorney Timothy Sieh identified them as 54-year-old David Biba of Geneva and 68-year-old Leon Snoberger of San Diego, Calif.

The plane, a Cessna 172, was owned by Randy Hall, manager of the airport. He confirmed it had been rented for a flying lesson and took off a half-hour or so before the wreckage was found about 4 p.m. Friday.

No one saw the plane go down, and the cause of the crash wasn't immediately known.

Sieh says the investigation had been taken over by the Federal Aviation Administration and the National Transportation Safety Board.
