Australian paramedics hurt in ambulance smash

Sydney Morning Herald

SYDNEY, Australia — Two NSW ambulance officers have been taken to hospital after their vehicle collided with a car on the state's central coast.

The ambulance was travelling along Link Road at Blue Haven north of Wyong when it was in collision with another vehicle about 8.15am today, an ambulance spokeswoman.

"Two ambulance officers have been taken to Wyong Hospital with minor injuries," the spokeswoman said.

No-one from the other vehicle required paramedic treatment.

The ambulance was not carrying a patient at the time of the crash and inquiries are being made as to whether the vehicle was using its lights and sirens at the time.
