Aspiring Mass. EMT charged with fire truck break-ins

By David Linton
Attleboro Sun Chronicle

ATTLEBORO, Mass. — An aspiring emergency medical technician charged with breaking into fire trucks at a North Attleboro repair shop and stealing $30,000 worth of firefighting equipment was released Monday after posting $2,500 cash bail.

Jacob LaPointe, 20, of 120 Lyman St. in North Attleboro, had innocent pleas entered on his behalf at arraignment in Attleboro District Court on 10 counts of breaking and entering into motor vehicles and larceny.

His lawyer, James Perkoski of North Attleboro, said he could not comment in detail about the case because he had just received the police report at arraignment. Perkoski described LaPointe as a "nice kid" who has no prior criminal record.
