Kelli Mccormack Kelli Mccormack Wednesday, March 13, 2013 4:09:35 PM The women never slowed down when going through the intersection even though rescue was lights and sirens and already in the intersection
Jake Stein Jake Stein Wednesday, March 13, 2013 6:43:35 PM Too many differing stories. This intersection is tricky so you need to be cautious when traveling at a high rate of speed through an intersection. Never assume everyone can hear you or will see you if there is something else to distract them as there is here.
Friday, March 15, 2013 5:36:45 AM Yeah, those little old ladies don't react fast enough when we bust intersections at 60 miles an hour. Maybe somebody should take our licenses away!
Rick Kendrick Rick Kendrick Friday, March 15, 2013 8:36:58 AM Yes Kelli .. the women didn't slow down .. because, they were crossing with a green light, on a 45 mph street. Maybe the rig entering the intersection against a red light, and in the wrong lane (going against traffic) should have slowed to a reasonable and safe speed. Remember the "Old lesson" .. "lights and sirens do not made you invincible"

Rick Kendrick Rick Kendrick Thursday, March 14, 2013 2:49:59 PM how fast do you have to be going, to slide 200 feet on your side?
Friday, March 15, 2013 5:29:02 AM I'm with Rick. We have a perfectly good understanding of what causes these things, and we keep ignoring our own wisdom. Guess we're STOOPID!
Lori Jean Lynk Lori Jean Lynk Thursday, March 14, 2013 3:11:11 PM If the patient didn't have chest pains before, he sure had them after.
Jeff Kappen Jeff Kappen Thursday, March 14, 2013 11:36:41 PM was this a braun ambulance any on know type of rig.
Teresa Sluss Teresa Sluss Saturday, March 16, 2013 5:55:40 PM When are the responders going to get it into there thick skulls, that you do not blow intersections, or stop signs, or in school zones, What are your protocals on the matter of defensive driving. Or do you even have one, You do not blow thur a stop sign, you do not blow thur an intersecion, or a red light, I don't care if you did have your lights and sirens on, you come to a slow down speed to make sure you can get thur clearly or like us we stop until all of the traffic is stopped for us, I know I am going to get it for saying this, but it is your fault you are in the hospital, the woman did nothing wrong, so do not blame her for the responders blowing thur intersections or red lights before making sure you can do so safely. The fire dept is the worst for this, its a mentality for them to be the first on scene, why do you have to do that, who cares, just get there safely, Its time charges start to go out for you all that drive without due regard for the public and the safety of your crew, it is up to you all. The incident will still be there, and the hospital is not going to pack up and move, and treat your patient to the best of your ability, get there safe, no harm no foul.
Paul Bernard Jr. Paul Bernard Jr. Saturday, March 16, 2013 5:58:44 PM AMR's policy is you stop at ALL red lights/stop signs/etc. NH STATE LAW is that even as an emergency vehicle, you CANNOT go through a school bus' flashing red lights. You HAVE to wait for the bus driver to allow you through. Even green lights, we slow right down and MAKE SURE the intersection is clear.... you never know what the other drivers are going to do. You have to expect ANYTHING and EVERYTHING.
Mike Colley Mike Colley Saturday, March 16, 2013 6:27:50 PM Each time you flip the lights and siren switch, you are becoming a target because you are yelling at people to "LOOK AT ME". And as a target it is up to you to make sure NOBODY hits you. That's why its called "DEFENSIVE DRIVING".
Jake Stein Jake Stein Monday, March 18, 2013 9:48:33 AM The one witness in the video who was putting the blame on the other car is wearing the shirt for a private EMT/Paramedic school. That might skew her opinion as a witness somewhat. I guess there is still no need to increase the training to be an "Ambulance Driver".
