FBI raids Los Angeles ambulance company

Workers entering the building were scanned and agents confiscated boxes in Gentle Care Transport’s garage, but it’s unclear what they were looking for

By EMS1 Staff

LOS ANGELES — Federal agents scanned workers and confiscated boxes at Gentle Care Transport's garage, but authorities are not immediately revealing the reason for Thursday's raid on the company.

Several FBI and LAPD vehicles lined the block along the location of the provider in Atwater Village, CBS Los Angeles reports. Workers were scanned with metal detector wands and their bags were searched before FBI agents would allow them inside the building.

Agents also searched boxes in the company's garage and took some away in a van. Gentle Care Transport provides emergency transport services in Los Angeles, Orange, Riverside and San Diego counties.

An FBI spokesperson said agents were executing a federal search warrant. Since the affidavit for the warrant was sealed, authorities could not release the purpose for the raid.
