|Arthur Hsieh, MA, NREMT-P is the Director of Education and Chief Executive Officer of the San Francisco Paramedic Association, an education and advocacy organization for emergency care providers. Beginning in 1982, Art’s career has taken him to both coasts of the United States, spending time in both the private and public sector EMS systems. He has served as a president of the National Association of EMS Educators, the EMS In Service training chief for a metropolitan fire department, an educator in both vocational and academic institutions, and is a tireless champion for quality out of hospital care. |Robert Donovan, M.D., FACEP, is an emergency physician working at a busy Level II Trauma Center in California’s Central Valley. He obtained his medical degree in Alabama before moving out west. In prior years, Robert has served as an EMS medical director and ED medical director. Currently, Robert is the medical director of PHI California, an air ambulance program; chief of staff for the Medical Center; and still works full-time in the ER. |David Givot, JD, graduated from Daniel Freeman Paramedic School (now UCLA) in June 1989 and spent most of the next decade responding to 911 in Glendale, CA, with the, then BLS only, fire department. By the end of 1998, he was traveling around the country working with distressed EMS agencies teaching improved field provider performance through better communication and leadership practices. David then moved into the position of director of operations for the largest ambulance provider in the Maryland. Now, back in Los Angeles, he has earned his law degree and is looking to the future of EMS. He has created TheLegalGuardian.com as a first step toward improving the state of EMS through information and education designed to protect EMS professionals nationwide. |Kelly Grayson, NREMT-P, CCEMT-P, is a critical care paramedic in Louisiana. He has spent the past 14 years as a field paramedic, critical care transport paramedic, field supervisor and educator. He is a former president of the Louisiana EMS Instructor Society and board member of the LA Association of Nationally Registered EMTs, and currently operates an EMS training and consulting firm, MEDIC Training Solutions. |
He is a frequent EMS conference speaker, and has provided expert content review of several EMS training texts. |Mike McEvoy, PhD, REMT-P, RN, CCRN, is the EMS coordinator for Saratoga County and the EMS director on the Board of the New York State Association of Fire Chiefs. Formerly a forensic psychologist, he is a clinical specialist in cardiac surgery and teaches critical care medicine at Albany Medical College, where he also co-chairs the Resuscitation Committee and serves on the Formulary Committee. Mike is a paramedic for Clifton Park-Halfmoon Ambulance, chief medical officer for West Crescent Fire Department, and past chair and current member of the New York State EMS Council.|
Mike is the Fire-EMS technical editor for Fire Engineering magazine and has authored numerous publications including the book, "Straight Talk About Stress for Emergency Responders." Waddell II has been involved in EMS for over 30 years, working as a volunteer EMT in rural Wyoming, a paramedic in the Front Range of Colorado, state training coordinator for Colorado, and founder of an international health education corporation providing EMS education and consultation for nations across the world.|
Bob is the secretary/treasurer for NAEMSE, former international chairman for the NAEMT Emergency Pediatric Care (EPC) course, and is vice president in charge of evidence-based disaster triage methodology for ThinkSharp, Inc.
