Michael J. Ward, BS, MGA, MIFireE, NREMT-Basic, is an Assistant Professor of Emergency Medicine at The George Washington University and EMS Management Degree Program Head. Served as an EMT (commercial, volunteer and seasonal) and a paid firefighter/paramedic. During his three decade career with Fairfax County (Virginia) Fire and Rescue, worked in every division of the department, retiring as the acting EMS Division administrator. Ward is a textbook author and national conference presenter. Former chair of the National EMS Management Curriculum Subcommittee at the USFA National Fire Academy.
